Principal's Message

Distinguished Students and Families!

I hope you had a wonderful Spring Break 2018 and are ready to finish the year strong. This month we will be celebrating Teacher and Staff Appreciation. This is the perfect time to let your child's teacher know just how much they are appreciated. Students will be bringing home a flyer with a suggested list of acts to show their gratitude. Thank you in advance for your support.
SBAC testing for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders has begun. Thank you for ensuring that your children are rested, fed and at school on time. Now is the time to shine and show all that they have learned this year.
I hope you have had an opportunity to become involved in one of our many school events. If not, this month, we invite you to participate in one of our many school events; including our upcoming California Distinguished School Ceremony (date to be announced). Please see the enclosed event calendar for more information.
One final important reminder; it is imperative that your child is at school everyday, on time and dressed for success to access their education. We need your continued support with meeting our attendance goals.
Remember, my door is always open.

With Dino Pride,
Mrs. Lavelle

We tried our best on the test! Congratulations to the bike winners.

With the 4th of July holiday fast approaching, the Long Beach Fire and Police Departments would like to remind residents, visitors, and staff that all fireworks, including those marked “Safe and Sane,” are ILLEGAL in the City of Long Beach.

The Fire and Police Departments will be out in force the days leading up to and on July 4th to ensure compliance of the Long Beach City Ordinance that bans fireworks. Although both Departments seek voluntary compliance to ensure public safety, this duty often requires strict enforcement of all laws through arrests and citations. Anyone cited or arrested for fireworks violations may be faced with a $1,000 fine, sentenced to jail for six months, or both. The fines and penalties may increase depending on the fireworks’ classification.

Fireworks may be voluntarily disposed at collection bins located at:

  • All fire stations
  • Lifeguard Headquarters 2100 E. Ocean Boulevard, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Any police station

For more information, alerts, advisories, and emergency news please visit, "Like" us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and Instagram, or contact LBFD Community Services at (562) 570-2525.

If you See Something, Say Something! Call Long Beach Police Dispatch at (562) 435-6711 or 9-1-1 if you observe dangerous or illegal activities.

Together, we can enjoy a safe holiday!

These meetings help the school district to strategize programs to support Pacific Islander students.  View the attached flier for details and a schedule of meetings through September.

State law requires all public schools to create a School Accountability Report Card (SARC). The purpose of the report card is to provide parents and the community with important information about your child's school, which includes:

  • School Description and Mission
  • School Programs and Instructional Materials
  • Opportunities for Parent Involvement
  • Test Results
  • Safety Plan
  • Facilities

We invite you to view the School Accountability Report Card (SARC) for your child's school.  You can find your school's SARC here.
